Dr. Malsom graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor's degree in both Chemistry and Spanish.  She went on to study optometry at the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN where she graduated with a docotorate of Optometry in 2005.  External rotations were done at John-Kenyon Eye Center in Louisville, KY and at the Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH.  Her areas of special interest are nutrition and how it affects the eye, managing patients with disorders such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, providing care to patients with eye injuries or infection, and co-managing recent eye surgery patients such as cataract surgery and refractive surgery.  Dr. Malsom is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Indiana Optometric Association, and the Optometric Nutrition Society.
