Dr. Fleckenstein was born in Kokomo, IN, but grew up in a small town in Northern Illinois.  She graduated from Oregon High School in 1985 as valedictorian and then went on to get her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Illinois in 1989.  In 1993, she graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry.  She completed external rotations at the Perry Point VA Medical Center in Perry Point, Maryland, and at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.  Dr. Fleckenstein has been employed by Dr. Paul Benzing and currently by Dr. Daniel Wendorff in the doctor's office inside LensCrafters at the Greenwood Park Mall in Greenwood, IN.  Dr. Fleckenstein has completed the education and certification program for prescribing corneal refractive lenses and is an affiliate doctor of TLC Laser Vision Center.  She also serves as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.  Dr. Fleckenstein is married, has two dogs, a cat, and a basement full of fish.  Her hobbies include photography and shopping.
